Dr. Phub Dem

Dr. Phub Dem is a Lecturer at the College of Natural Resources. She completed her B.Sc in Environment and Climate Studies from CNR in 2018 and joined the college as an Assistant Lecturer in 2019. She subsequently pursued graduate studies at Nagoya University, Japan, earning a Master of Environmental Studies in 2022 and a PhD in Environmental Engineering in September 2025. Her doctoral research focused on developing a comprehensive sustainability assessment indicator to evaluate ecosystem services and land-use change.

In her current role, Dr. Dem serves as the Programme Leader for the PhD in Climate Studies, where she contributes to postgraduate programme development, research and academic quality assurance. She also maintains an active international research collaboration with the Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS), Nagoya University, focusing on the development of a global resource sustainability assessment framework.

Her research interest lies at the intersection of resource sustainability, life cycle assessment, ecological economics, ecosystem services, and social–ecological systems. As a researcher and educator, Dr. Dem has published in leading international journals with impact factors exceeding 10. She also serves as a peer reviewer for internationally recognized journals published by Elsevier and Springer.

In teaching, she delivers undergraduate modules in Academic Writing, Applied Environmental Economics, Resource Economics, and Conservation and Ecotourism, with emphasis on integrating research, critical thinking, and real-world environmental applications into student learning.
